Welcome to the Home of Bayonet Military Model Club
Who are we?
Bayonet Military Model club is located in Werribee, one of the western suburbs of Melbourne. It has been in existence for about 18 years and although it is a relatively small club compared to some, it has stood the test of time and is still going strong. The club consists of a variety of different modellers ranging from those who just build armour, to the sadistic few who are scratch builders and love a good challenge. All types of models are built with aircraft, figures, sci-fi and armour being just a few. Anyone is welcome and the only thing that is asked is that you bring your sense of humour!! The club meets once a month and everyone is invited to bring along their projects whether finished or still in progress.
Upcoming Events
Bayonet Model Club is proud to be running its 10th Anniversary Model Swap Meet/Competition on Saturday 12th November. This is a one day event with all money raised going to the restoration of the B-24 Liberator and is a not-for-profit event. As normal, we will be donating the total funds raised on the day directly to the Liberator so that they may continue their fantastic work in completing this wonderful aircraft. Unfortunately they do not get funding readily for their work and they have to actively fundraise to try and get funds as well as from sales in their shop. For those who have never visited this remarkable aircraft, it is a must do. You can meet gentlemen on the day who actually flew the aircraft or were crew of it and are still actively part of restoring it. Tours will be run on the day free of charge along with an engine run. Refreshments will also be available with a Sausage Sizzle being on all day and drinks also being for sale. Further information on this can be found in the Upcoming Events tab to the left of the page. Please come along and join us to help make this bigger and better than ever.
There will also be a display of 2 of genuine Sheperd Paine shadow box displays. These are extremely rare. One is called the Decision of the Admiralty Board and the other is the Seedy/Shady Side of the Shire. There are also other selected figures on display. He is world reknowned master modeller and for those who have never seen this remarkable mans work, it is a must see!
