Bayonets Annual Model Competition, Swap Meet and Family Day

We are holding our annual Model Competition,Swap Meet and Family Day on Saturday 12th November 2011. This is our 10th year and it is looking like being a wonderful day. We will be holding it at the B-24 Liberator hangar which is located on the corner of Farm Road and Princes Highway Werribee (Melways Ref 205 F10). This is a fantastic competition with all money raised on the day going to the restoration of the B-24 Liberator.  The event is getting bigger and better every year with this being the 10th year that is has been run. $2 is asked for entry. Children are encouraged to attend and enter their kits.

The event is being held at the Liberator with doors opening at 9am. Kits can be registered/entered on Friday night from 5pm til 7pm and on Saturday from 9am to 11.30am. Entry fee for kits is $2 per kit (up to 5 kits and then it's free) for adults and $1 per kit (up to 5 kits and then its free) for Juniors.

Categories include aircraft, armour, figures, civil vehicles, miscellaneous, juniors and also a masterclass section where the best of the best are judged against one another. We also have two new categories - Warhammer 40K and Fantasy. Bayonet Club members and their families do not enter this competition but judge it. We feel that this is only fair considering we are running the event.

Other awards on the day include the Jim Robinson award for Best of Show. He was a  member of our club who is now no longer with us but he loved his modelling and we wish to keep his memory alive by honouring him with this award. He would have been totally humbled by this but also would have loved it. His modelling expertise was outstanding with him putting so much love and dedication into each kit that he built. We miss him dearly but in keeping this trophy going, he will always be a part of our club for many years to come.
